Adirondack French Louie -- The BookIf you've heard about French Louie then you're probably someone who enjoys the Adirondacks and wonders about life in "the good old days" in the north woods.
If you haven't heard of Louie, allow us to introduce you!!
Louis "French Louie" Seymour was the lovable hermit featured in Harvey Dunham's 1952 classic book, Adirondack French Louie -- Early Life in the North Woods.
Its a great book that, by telling Louie's fascinating life story, also relates the story of the hardy lumberjacks, guides, trappers, hunters and inn keepers that managed to thrive in the Southern Adirondacks in the late 1800's - some of the toughest terrain in the northeast.
Through Louie's adventures, occupations and antics, an informal history of the region is revealed, along with hilarious anecdotes about Louie's friends, bosses and occasional enemies.
What was it like to live the life of a woodsman or lumberjack in the great northern frontier of the late 1800's. You can find out in the book Adirondack French Louie -- Early Life in the North Woods!
